3 Global Sustainability Initiatives

Our main balsa wood factory, the Balsasud S.A. facility in Ecuador sources only sustainably grown balsa wood trees. Our goal is to deliver balsa wood that has been responsibly sourced, as our way to fight illegal logging, which is one of the largest causes for deforestation.

Each of our facilities is surrounded by amazing communities that bolster our operation. In an effort to support the development of these communities, we have created several life-changing income opportunities for those in need. In addition, we continually support these communities with education and medical aid.

We have the goal to reduce our global carbon footprint annually, with the target to become carbon neutral by 2030. Some of the key approaches we have taken to achieve this goal include planting trees, powering our facilities with renewable energy where possible, minimizing our waste, reducing water usage and recycling whenever possible.
